 Episcopal Church Women

Who We Are

We are Episcopal Church Women of all ages, ethnic origins and socioeconomic backgrounds who hold a variety of views. However, the common denominator of our members is love of God and the wish to do God's work.

Mission

Centered in parishes, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) empowers women to do Christ’s ministry in the world.

Vision

Our vision for all women of the Episcopal Church is that we become a vibrant blend of all ages, coming together as a peacemaking, healing part of the Church. We aspire to be a Godspark-shining and sharing the love of Christ.

ECW at St. John's

St. John’s Episcopal Church Women is an active group of women organized in 1948 to support the financial and educational needs of the church. In the 1950’s, the ECW members saw their role as fund raisers for the newly constructed church building and as a venue to help local crafts people market their products at their store, “The Church Mouse.”  Over the years, the ECW has raised funds for church repairs and improvements and to support a growing list of local charities.  Presently, the ECW continue their out-reach mission to several organizations as well as to a Jackson County family recommended by a school social worker. ECW provides receptions for special occasions and collects funds for the United Thank Offering, the All Saints Day Offering and the Church Periodical Club.  The group meets on the third Monday of alternate months, beginning in January. The meetings are held at noon in the Parish Hall. Participants bring their own sandwich with drinks and dessert provided by the hostess.  Lunch and the business portion of the meetings are followed by a brief program. All women in the church are invited to participate in the activities of St. John’s ECW and enjoy the friendship of other women in the church.
